People love to talk about other people. Whether it's about someones looks, house, children, shoes, spouse, hair, etc... People just want someone else to speak about.
Sometimes it even starts out of concern about what a friend might be going through and that concern turns into a multitude of suggestions which very quickly builds up a soap opera based on pure theory.
We can't get inside someone elses head. We don't know every one's personal struggles. We don't know what someone went through in the past that might have shaped their decisions today.
God to simplify the nonsense of gossip made a very simple suggestion
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29
Yup, God knows us better than we can ever know ourselves.
If it's not going to build anyone up don't bother talking about it. In reality if we look into our own lives we have enough soap operas going on there that we don't have any room to make any suggestions about anyone elses life.
Let us work on making the following effort, before talking let us ask ourselves why and how!
WHY we are going to say something!
HOW is it going to benefit the person that is listening!
If what we say isn't going to help someone than let us restrain ourselves from commenting!
Let us start to empower other women with our words, there is way too much suffering in this world for any of us to contribute even more to this suffering by what comes out of our mouths.
Let us share wholesome talk that can encourage someone today!
