I can imagine that a drought brings a great thirst that eagerly awaits to be quenched.
In the same manner our spirit can be left feeling thirsty. Eagerly awaiting to be quenched!
We can try to quench that thirst with keeping busy but once we have alone time the thirst is still there.
I believe God allows us to feel thirsty for Him.
It's in the time of isolation that we feel alone and He creates this opportunity so that we can want Him and seek Him.
If you've read about the amazing men of the Bible like Moses, Joseph, Elijah, David, John and of course Jesus, you realize that they all experienced times of isolation where it was just them alone. It was during these times that they sought God because they were spiritually thirsty. God having a great plan for their lives to fulfill created these times of spiritual drought so that they could reach a maturity with their relationship with Him that otherwise they would not have reached.
I encourage you, if you feel that thirst in your life, seek Him for He will fulfill a need that is only meant for Him to change.
