Ever present

"God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble." Psalm 46:

When troubles rises we all want immediate relief, a quick solution.  We just want the stress of our situation to disappear.  

 We pray more. We make promises of being better people in attempt that God will look at that brief honest moment and magically solve everything.

Until we realize that God isn't a vending machine, we can't purchase a quick solution to our troubles.

We try to bribe Him with what we think He wants to hear, but He knows our heart all too well.

I was speaking to my children, that at times can't seem to agree, how they would loose some of their favorite toys if they couldn't learn how to get along.  Trust me, I've done it numerous times and every time they don't get along I sound like a broken record repeating the same thing.  I take their favorite things away and for several days they get along brilliantly.  I then give them back their toys and what do you know, within hours they are arguing again and forget the lesson learned.

The same happens with us.  God hears our cry but He knows the perfect time to bring us our freedom from our troubles because if He does it too soon we will forget the lesson learned. 

We are like children and God is the parent wanting the best for us. He balances what we want from what we truly need.  

Trust His timing!  He has the answer to your prayer before you even speak it.
