I was thinking earlier of what God did with Gideon. If you haven't read about Gideon you should. Gideon had an army of 32,000 soldiers and they were going to raise up against the enemy that had 135,000.
If you're doing the math right you are probably thinking "how in the world are they going to defeat the enemy if they are so outnumbered".
Well, God knew they were outnumbered and yet God told Gideon that he had too many soldiers on his side. So when all was said in done God told Gideon to take only 300 men against the 135,000.
God wanted Gideon and the people of Israel to know that victory was coming despite their circumstances because God would be the one to bring the victory.
Just like in our own lives, often God will strip you out of the resources you think you need to be blessed just so that He can show you that you will receive the blessing not because of the resources you possess but because He is with you.
It is during these times of trial when we feel that all is being taken away that God will show us His unconditional love. He loves us beyond what we can even imagine and will go through great lengths to give us the opportunity to know Him.
