Fessing up

As I enjoyed two wonderful days at a women's retreat it gave me a lot of time to meditate on my life and the stories I was hearing from different woman.
I often hear people say why did Adam and Eve have to ruin things for us?  Truth be told we often do the same mistake they committed thousand of years ago.  We fail to take responsibility for our own actions.
The word of God says; "God said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?  And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me—she gave me [fruit] from the tree, and I ate. And the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled (cheated, outwitted, and deceived) me, and I ate." Genesis 3:11-13

Adam was quick to pass the responsibility of his disobedience not only to Eve but insinuating that it was God's fault that He had given her has a wife.  In other words, God I made this mess because You placed me in this situation.  Sounds familiar?  Have you ever made excuses for your sins and mistakes?
I will let you reflect on those questions.

I truly believe that had Adam approached God and had he been sincere to take responsibility for his actions, God would of probably been less harsh with the punishment that He gave Adam.

Sincerity, in accepting that some difficult issues we are dealing with or have dealt with, is the key to overcome our current struggles.  God looks for people that have integrity to fess up when they are wrong.  God understands we aren't perfect but He has the expectation for us to be truthful even if admitting to our mistakes is difficult.  You might have to reap for some past sins but what will determine whether you get stuck in your struggles or not is a sincere heart.
Blaming everyone else for what we do wrong will further the grace of God from your life.
