Paying a high price

As most faiths celebrate this upcoming Easter Sunday, I realized that most people don't truly even grasp the depth of the sacrifice that Christ elected to do for them.
Imagine this, you at some point in your life have been misjudged, gossiped about, beaten, and all sort of injustices have been committed against you.
At no fault of yours you have been set in trial accused of a crime you didn't commit.  The person who did commit the crime watches you take blame for his/her wrong doings.  Yet you proceed with receiving the blame knowing that even the death penalty might be your unjust punishment.
This is exactly what Jesus did for us.  He took upon himself the punishment for sins he did not commit.
He died so that through accepting him into our life we are no longer bound by our past sins.  So that through following his example we can live a different life.
I often hear people say to me that I am different.  But I'm not different by my own account, what makes me different is that I make the decision each day to take accountability for my life.  I live knowing that God is watching my every word, though and action.  I strive that less of me becomes known and more of Christ is reflected.  I value the life that God gave me.
During this Holy Week I ask you to take time to reflect on your life.  Open up your heart and mind so that God can reveal to you what you need to change.
If you feel empty and like something is missing recognize that it's a void inside you that you have desperately tried to fill.  You might have tried to fill it with friends, possessions, parties and everything imaginable but yet you always turn up empty.
There's a place inside of you and me that only belongs to God.  It is all about the relationship that He earns to have with us.  That is why that void is never filled!  You will only feel full and complete when the missing piece to your puzzle is found.  This starts with seeking God!
I've been asked how do you find God?  If you want to know Him there's no better place than in the book that He inspired.  The Bible!  Get to know Him because He certainly wants a relationship with you.
Read the book of John, my favorite.  You can really see  God's love and purpose for you there.
