New resolution!

So we are at the very beginning of a new year!   To many its the opportunity to start new.  To do things different.  Some have made a resolution they will be more successful with their jobs others a resolution to exercise and lose weight.  You might start with the drive to dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to make your resolution a great success.
You begin to exercise for example and you start to feel well (as you should) and the weeks go by, the months start going by and you begin to feel discouraged or bored of doing the same thing over and over again.  Even thou you are seeing results with you dedication to losing weight you begin to feel tired of doing the same thing over and over again.  You begin to cheat once in your diet and start skipping your exercise routines until you realize that you have all together given up.  Then the excuses start to build up and you try to start to justify and talk yourself out of going back to the gym.
Sounds familiar?  I know because I've done this several times over and over again.  Shameful, I know!

Now that you understand how it feels like to start something that is great for you, I mean it helps you physically, mentally, etc.  You can also understand that the same happens with our relationship with God.
When you get tired of living life a certain way that isn't profitable to you in any way, you start to seek for God, hoping that there is something that will finally fulfill your heart completely.  Most of us don't realize we need God until we start analyzing that there's an emptiness inside of us that can't be filed by anything we do.
It's that special spot that only belongs to the one that created us.
Going back to what I was saying above, you start seeking God.  You even start going to church regularly.  You start to feel your mood change, you become more uplifted.  And than time starts to pass and you start getting bored of what you're doing.  Even thou it's something that is great for you emotionally and spiritually, you still start to make excuses of why you can't do it anymore.  Just like most resolutions we make.  We come to Christ, we repent for all the sins that can't even be measured but nevertheless after a short period of time we throw in the back burner all that God has raised us out of.  We start to depleting the joy from our hearts which in turn starts to affect all areas of our life.

Those that achieve great success with their resolutions are those that stay committed to them.  That despite feeling like giving up at times still press on past the feeling of wanting to give up because they know that they can only achieve what they seek by being consistent with their goals.

Whatever your resolution is this year in regards to your relationship with God I encourage you to pursue it because  like the Bible says; "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

Our worst day in this world with God will always be better than our worst day without Him.  With Him we can overcome all things and do all things!
