It's all about me!

We have become a world about ME!
I have to admit I have done that in the past, where I was so overwhelmed with whatever struggle I was facing that It became about me.  I taught myself to believe that I needed to fix my mind on what I was feeling and that I didn't have any room to worry about others.  But I was extremely unhappy.  This worrying only about ME wasn't bringing me any peace.  It wasn't part of the godly character that I had once adopted.  I was becoming like everyone else and less like the character that God wanted me to have.
We cannot do things just because we have a pity party and decide that it's all about how we feel.  Like we earned the entitlement through our pain to be selfish in our ambition to dwell in our self pity.
Listen, I am not saying that it's easy to struggle and that we need to be made of stone and not feel pain.  NO, what I have learned is that whenever you are going through a struggle don't alienate others.  There could be someone that might need your encouragement just because God knows that by your forcing yourself to encourage others you will be renewing your strength and encourage yourself.  Don't lose whatever opportunities God has specifically just for YOU because of dwelling in pain.  God will encourage you if you make the decision that you want to be encouraged.
The Word of God says
"Do to others as you would have them do to you" Luke 6:31
Jesus wasn't saying for you to only do good for others if they are nice to you but instead to do good for others as if you wish would be done for yourself so that your reward will be great (see verse 35).
That is why I find so much joy in doing for others because it's fulfilling.  It brings joy to my heart.  Especially when I do good for those that don't even know me because I know God is watching and taking into account every deed.
This Christmas season it is natural for us to shower our families with gifts, we have joy in seeing them open each gift with excitement.  However, I encourage you to give the gift that God expects of us, forgive where forgiveness is needed, love someone that is in desperate need of love, reach out to someone who might be going through a difficult time and lay your own struggles aside.
Do what Jesus said in Luke chapter 6 verse 31.
Be blessed!
