Peace within

Our life has so many trials that at times we feel that we are going on a roller coast ride where the peace of being at the top is quickly disrupted by the even quicker down hill ride.  Yet thou during such times God promises us peace.
During many years I've had numerous conversations with other God fearing friends about how exactly we can acquire peace during our trials.  Yet all this time the revelation of this mystery has always been in the Word of God.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

The peace we seek when we are feeling troubled has already been given and placed miraculously inside of us for that was the promise Jesus gave us.  The frustration comes when we are so much in despair where we try to find that peace in others.  We try to find our peace by occupying our mind with shopping, friends, partying...
Even thou we might feel the trouble knocking at our door our assurance that a blessing will come keeps our hearts from feeling troubled and afraid.

Don't seek your peace in the world or others for you will never find it, but seek that peace in the assurance that God can help you out of your darkest moment.

This was reminded to me by a friend that has faced such tremendous opposition that it would be almost unbearable to any one else.  yet during her search for peace she sought God and has she said to me yesterday, now even when she is facing any struggle she feels a peace she never had before.
