There is no doubt in my mind that God works out all situations in our lives for the good of us. How many times have you gone through something in your life and often have asked God why and later down the road you realize the reasons and the necessity of that past difficult situation?
That's right my friends, God will purposely allow some difficult situations that frustrate us just to change our character.
Just look at 1 Peter 5:5 "For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)—[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble."
God delights Himself on blessing us but because He knows us better than we know ourselves there are some steps He needs to take to prepare us to receive those blessings. He knows there might be areas of pride in our character that need to be worked out of us therefore He frustrates us to the point we desperately seek His favor all this because so we can always acknowledge that all that we are and have comes solemnly from Him, not by our own merit but by His.
I love what He says in 1 Peter 5:10 "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you."
I don't believe we ought to suffer forever but i believe some struggles are necessarily temporarily to get us to mold humility into our character so we will never forget by Who's hand we have been delivered and blessed.
How long must we endure struggles? That depends entirely on us, it depends on how long it takes for us to acknowledge that a life of peace cannot be lived without seeking and placing God in first place.
Be blessed!
