Be real!

As i was enjoying a manicure this morning i was listening to the girl that was doing my nails talk about how she feels the need the search for God but hasn't found the right place to do it.  She was sharing with me how she feels very encouraged when someone speaks to her about God but very abruptly her encouragement turns into disgust when that same person starts to gossip about someone else.
She mentioned something that touched my heart, she said that her expectation of someone that claims to be God fearing is someone that is kind towards everyone and delivers encouragement with everything they say and how they act.  What she said saddened my heart in a way because it is not the first time i hear of someone saying this.  People are suffering and thirsty for some sort of compassion but get discouraged from participating in church because the same people that extend the invitation are not the examples of compassion and kindness they should be portraying.
Unfortunately for me in my past i also have committed the mistake of perhaps not showing the best testimony i should as a God fearing woman of God, but i certainly have learned from my so many mistakes.  I've learned that we shouldn't have the mentality to push religion on someone and press on people that only the church we belong to is of God.  I've learned to be an example of what being a woman of God is with my attitudes.  Instead of pushing God on someone we should show God to people through what Jesus did the most which was to be compassionate and kind.  This doesn't mean that we will justify someones wrong living but that through our kindness we can perhaps stear them in the right direction.
We also need to understand that some are more bold than others and while some might have been called to be bold like John the Baptist and bluntly expose someones sins others have been called to through compassion heal the wounds of those that yet don't have a relationship with God.
I encourage you to be a blessing to all those that will cross your path without any expectation for recognition because truth is many will only express compassion because they want everyone to see that they are being godly even thou their motives are to divert the attention from the ungodly things they do.
I ended my conversation with my friend by telling her that i have learned one unique lesson; we plant seeds everyday and with everything we do and those seeds will give birth to something and it will either be something good (if the seed was good) or something bad.
We cannot place our own relationship with God according to someones faults.  Our relationship with Him is personal and individual from anyone else.  Nevertheless we need to be more aware of our attitudes and make sure that our attitudes are in accordance with how we should be acting as a godly person.
Like a good friend of mine says often we need to be "Real".
