Kindness isn't understated!

Kindness is something that is so lacking in this world today.  I often pay attention how people will be making negative comments about what someone is saying, wearing or doing.  However, it is not very often i hear someone say "perhaps this person is behaving in this manner because they must be going through some sort of struggles".  We are taught by society to be so critical of others without any consideration or compassion for what issues this person or peoples might be facing.
Wouldn't things be different if only before being critical of someone we would be more concerned about what issues this person might be facing and what we could possibly do to help?
I made a little test last week, i paid attention how people treated me based on what i was wearing.  If i was dressed up with  my professional work clothes people would respond to me with respect however the times i was dressed with my jogging pants and shirt people would actually ignore me or look down on me.  Isn't it sad that people will only show you respect based on what you look like?
Basically if you look important than people will show you respect but if you look like you just rolled out of bed then you aren't even acknowledged.
Before you criticize what someone is wearing, how they speak, whether they speak too much or too little, even sometimes when they are abrasive, remember you don't know what this person is struggling with.
Your smile can change someones day!  Your act of kindness can even save someones life.
All i can tell you is there have been times in my life that i was so overwhelmed and exhausted that God would always put someone to cross my path just to show me a smile and that smile would brighten my day and make the struggles i was facing seem so much smaller than what they really where.
Perhaps people haven't been very kind to you in your past but this doesn't mean that you need to show the same level of unkindness to others.  Strive to make a difference and make and impact no matter how big or small in someones life.  An impact of goodness!
