Just keep running!

Our life is truly a race!  Most important part of a race is knowing where the finish line is.  Knowing what we are running towards and what our goal is.  When you run a race you don't prepare yourself by wearing the heaviest set of clothes but you need to make sure that you have the lightest set of clothing on and the lightest running shoes.  Equally in our life, we are setting the mark to run towards a certain goal and in order to reach that goal we need to let go of anything that could possibly be weighing us down.
There are so many things that could weigh us down from reaching our goals especially if you goal is having peace in your life.  You might have to let go of unforgiving, perhaps someone has said or has done something to you that was so terribly wrong that has left you emotionally damaged.
You might have to let go of doing or watching things that deep in your heart you know you shouldn't be doing or watching.  You might have to change how you perceive things, perhaps your a negative and judgemental person.
It is imperative to let go of anything that we see that is hindering us from achieving our complete happiness.
As i was reading Hebrews 12 this morning it deeply touched my heart.  It talks about running a race in which the ultimate prize is a heavenly reward (eternal salvation).  It speaks of running with endurance and letting go of anything that is slowing us down from reaching our goal.  What caught my attention was verse 13 which states "make straight paths for your feet".  We (myself included) tend to blame others for some misfortunes that have happened in our life but rarely do we look at our own selves and search for what we could have possibly contributed to that misfortune.  It is our responsibility to straighten the rocky ground that we walk on.  Let go of bitterness, resentment, anger, judgemental thoughts and so forth anything that we find is weighing us down.  Notice how it doesn't state that it's another person's responsibility to straighten our paths but indeed our own responsibility.  It's our choice!
If while you are reading this you feel a revelation of something in you or your life that is weighing you down from reaching your goal of peace, don't feel ashamed yet happy that there is an amazing God that loves us enough to give us yet another opportunity to change.
