What does it take to be happy?

What does it take for us to be happy? Some women feel that if they were thinner, healthier, wealthier, changed their appearance, had more attention from their spouses, had everyone's respect and in general be liked by everyone, this would complete their happiness. We let what we feel is missing in our lives to dictate that only by obtaining what we desire can fulfill our joy. I remember feeling when I was a teenager that if I had love in my life I would be fulfilled. But once love was acquired there was still the need for more. We always feel the need for more. You can build the things you desire into your life but even after obtaining such things there is always a gap to make us feel complete. Why not just enjoy and be grateful for today for what God has given you today? Wasn't this God's ultimate plan for us? When God created Adam and Eve, He placed everything at their disposition. They didn't have to worry about bills, what to eat, health, a relationship. They had everything, yet they still felt there was something missing. I believe we have to be Positive and always have faith for greater things to come into our lives but we should live joyful in our today. I used to only feel happy by making others happy, after all being godly is about giving. However it would very often sadden me when I knew someone was mad at me or would speak foolishness about me as a person especially when it wasn't the truth. I had to learn that if it's up to me, I need to be kind to all but without any expectations. People Can be unpredictable and disappoint us when least expected. That is why we need to know that we have done the best and not have any regard for any foolishness that others may say about us. I learned that someone can be saying all kinds of lies today but with time Godwill reveal the truth. So why allow what others say to destroy our joy? Be kind and if kindness isn't returned don't ruin your joy by dwelling on what someone has done to harm you. Have peace no matter where you are or what you are experiencing in your life believing that God's righteousness will shine upon your life. Find out how valuable you are to God and you won't place your worth on what you feel you need but instead on the precious worth that you as a person has before your creator.
