Forgiveness is not for the faint of heart!

Forgiveness is not for the faint of heart.  It is not easy to forgive someone that comes along to offend you.  Whoever says that is easy isn’t necessarily being truthful or perhaps lives in a world where everything is perfect and everyone is perfect which let’s face it isn’t our world.
Every day we need to get pass offense.  There will always be something that someone will do or say that will hurt our feelings.  Don’t get me wrong I am not saying that you should allow others to use you like a door mat and stomp all over you, absolutely not!  What I am saying is that for your own good you need to let go of the hurt and the offense.  Hurt and offense that is retained in your heart is like a weed growing in good soil.
Perhaps you have been hurt by a family member, a friend or coworker.  Perhaps you have been deeply betrayed by everyone that you thought you could trust.  Don’t allow your past to hinder great relationships in your future.  Your distrust will harm you instead of protecting you.
I believe that sometimes there is a great lack of compassion in today’s society.  Everyone is always thinking about themselves and very little concerned with others.  There is a lot of selfishness in this world.  No wonder the people that came across Jesus followed Him.  He was different, He was compassionate.  He showed those who were suffering around Him love and care regardless of their social status or their past sins.  This compassion is what we lack today, if we showed that love towards those around us regardless of the wrongs they committed we not only would feel fulfilled but we would certainly leave a mark on that person’s life.  We would leave a mark that would probably change the wrong direction that person was heading in.
There is also something else that I found that ruins friendships and relationships and that is sarcasm and pride.  Sarcasm is just a cover for being ill intended.  And a prideful heart has no capacity to ever see when it is wrong and very easily makes those around it lack in self esteem.  Like the word of God says let us build each other up not tear each other down.  Strive to make yourself a better person in Christ and be sober minded.  Show a little kindness to change not only your life but the life of those around you.
Be blessed!
