Remember the Hall pass we used to get when in school, whether you were going to the bathroom or the nurse’s office. That pass was your free ticket to wonder thru the halls of the school. When I was given the Hall Pass I normally would take the longest route to my destination just to enjoy the freedom of wondering through the halls when no one else could (unless they had a Hall pass of course). I’m sure most of you did the same thing.
Most Christian people walk through life like they have a Hall Pass at hand. They feel that they attend church so that gives them a check mark before God to justify all the wrong things they do. They call themselves church goers but still live life as if they were carrying a Hall Pass through life that allows them open access to be somewhere and do something that they aren’t supposed to. It’s bitter to hear people openly speak about how they go to church (like going to church alone makes you a godly fearing person) but yet they mistreat everyone and anyone. The heart of a God fearing person is a heart of a servant. It’s to believe that it is our duty to be kind to those that are around us and give them a godly example of what it means to be a believer of Christ. It doesn’t mean that we are perfect or will ever be perfect but it’s the effort to be kind.
There are no Hall Passes with God. He is all you need to succeed as a True God Fearing person. We cannot be double minded trying to serve God with one hand and satisfy our lusts with the other. The Bible speaks about being double minded and that it’s an abomination to God. “he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8
He never asked for us to be perfect but He asked for us to make an effort to live godly lives and steer free from sin. He asked for us to be stable in our faith and godly beliefs. There is no stability in lying, in profanity, in anger and indulging in what we know is wrong. There are a lot of people that believe God but there are far less that fear God. When you have fear for God you know that you can’t afford to fool around with sin. May the fear of God guide you daily
