Confessions from the heart!

Navigating through life is like going on a voyage.  One day you are in calm waters, admiring the beauty that surrounds you and the next day you are in a storm.  When we are caught in the midst of a storm even thou it is temporary the anxiety that is built up by fear seems unending.
You feel uncertainty for your life.

I wonder if this is how the famous King David felt.  He was chosen by God to be the future great king of Israel, yet from the very day he was anointed king it would take him several years before he was actually able to get to the throne.
The storms that surrounded him all those years where he was constantly fleeing for his life must of seemed like they would never end.  How daunting it must of been!  You are chosen to do something great yet you need to wait not one but several years before you actually fulfill it.  Yet through it all he made a decision.  He decided to trust God's calling for his life.  He trusted that in its due time God would fulfill His promises. All awhile his experiences prepared him to fulfill his destiny.

I don't know what storm you might be weathering at this moment, but I encourage you dig a little deeper in your faith.  Don't believe that your current situation will stay the same forever.  You will fulfill your destiny.

Perhaps it's time you learn to stand on your own two feet.  We can so very easily place our strength on the encouragement of others.  relying on our friends, family and spouses for support.  Let me tell you how disappointing that has been in my past.  God has always made a way to make me feel alone so that i can seek only Him for guidance.  Every time He has allowed this in my life I've been taught so much about His unwavering mercy and I've realized about my need  for a constant relationship with Him.

A constant need for God!   This we can learn from King David, that even thou he sinned and committed some mistakes, he would never repeat the same mistakes twice.  He was sincere in his willingness to repent and change because he knew he needed God in his life.
He had the unchangeable belief in the faithful and forgiving nature of God.  David never took God's forgiveness lightly or his blessings for granted.  In return, God never held back from David either his forgiveness or the consequences of his actions.  David experienced the joy of forgiveness even when he had to suffer the consequences of his sins.

We tend to get these two reversed.  Too often we would rather avoid the consequences than experience forgiveness.  David learned from his mistakes because he accepted the suffering they brought.  Often we don't seem to learn from our mistakes or the consequences that result from those mistakes.

Great storms prepared King David for a great destiny.  To become one of the greatest kings of Israel.  God might be calling you to do something great but don't get winded down by the storms of life.  During your season of storms there's preparation for the many blessings to come. In that season you learn to trust God, you learn to stand alone  and you learn to become a little more resilient to opposition!!!

Keep pressing, keep your heart clean from bitterness and open your heart so that you can hear what God is trying to create in you!
