Going with the flow and not swimming against the tide seems almost effortless.
What can be difficult is to be different!
*To have different behaviors, different way of thinking and making different decisions all based on integrity.
*To walk upright!
*Not to allow the easy way out of worldly thinking to influence our character.
*Not to allow the ill wishes of others in our lives to build up resentment and polute our precious hearts. *To forgive because it's hard but necessary so that our conscious is blameless before God.
*To take accountability for our actions.
*Not to be so quick to judge others but instead to look at the goodness in everyone.
*Not to place our happiness and well being in someone else's shoulders. Our happiness is our own responsibility.
*To be the best example for our children and to love our spouses unconditionally.
Unconditional, have you ever even read the definition for this? It means not limited by conditions. Don't allow the current conditions in your life to limit the love you give your family.
Focus on your family, they are the most precious gifts that God has trusted you with. Don't treat them like a burden but like a blessing. Don't put friends and work before your family.
Does it make any sense to have fun with friends and have lack of peace at your home? If you are happier being with friends instead of with those in your own home than you need to evaluate where you have been going wrong. I know, I know it's your families fault right? I don't think so, be responsible for your own actions, your snappy words, your bad moods, your demands. The demand for your spouse to be more attentive, perfect, etc... Everything that you are not. How can we expect perfection out of an imperfect person. Just look at yourself, your flaws, your sins, do you find perfection?
I don't say this to make you sad but to encourage you to be who God has chosen you to be. Not to be perfect but to be honest about our flaws and strive to change them. To be happy because God in our lives makes the connection that we had missing.
Be different from the crowd! Be who God has elected you to be!
