Circumstances dependent on joy

As I sat back and watched all the amazing kids compete in the special Olympics I was amazed by the joy these children have.  They were all so excited to perform their routines.  Their little faces full of joy at their accomplishments.
They weren't concerned as to whether or not their routines were perfect but were over joyous just to be in front of the crowd.

We cannot place our joy dependent on our circumstances.
We need to make our circumstances dependent in our joy.

We cannot place our joy dependent on others.  If we do we will most likely be disappointed.

Our joy needs to come from knowing that our circumstances are temporary and that God is always in control over what we hand over to Him.

Like the children in the special Olympics whose joy isn't dependent on their abilities but on just enjoying every minute that they have.  They make the best of every day.  Completely oblivious to the stares of strangers or to the constant reminder that they are different.  They focus on what they can do and not their limitations.  They are blessed on how they view life.  They are so distant from the malice that contaminates our world.  They are the purest form of God's goodness, love, mercy and kindness.
