This past week i had such a great opportunity to participate in the most amazing women's meeting. I sat through the meeting observing each woman that was present. Most of the women i looked at had such sadness and despair in their faces. Has i heard them during the prayer time that we had for our family i saw and heard how they were crying out for their family. I mean, they were really crying out. I could hear the despair in their voices. I felt such pain for them. The pain that you feel when you wish you could take someones burdens away.
Nowadays everyone is so busy with their own lives that they could care less for the pain that someone else is suffering with. Imagine if God felt that same way, we wouldn't have hope nor would we exist. We need to be less self absorbed and look for what we can do for someone else that might be in a much more unfortunate situation than us.
As i heard the message of the meeting i noticed how relateable this godly woman was to those who were listening to her. She was sharing her past struggles and every word that was uttered from her mouth was eagerly received by the women that were listening to her. It's not only important to give someone a solution to their problems but most importantly to show that we care.
Most people walk in selfishness thinking only about themselves. Some think about their own well being and some think only about their own problems as if they were the only person that is suffering. We need to be more like the example that Jesus showed us and be compassionate. Not allow the bitterness of life and suffering to harden our hearts to the point that we don't care about others. Until when are we going to surround ourselves with the "poor me syndrome" and not open our eyes that life isn't just about us and we have a duty to show those that are less fortunate compassion.
