The power of words

What power words have!  They have power to rise up and they have the power to destroy.  How often have we been hurt by what someone has said to us?  Even worst what power words have when we actually believe what is being said to us and about us.
There’s a prophet that the Bible speaks about which is probably the most inspirational to me.  His name was Elijah.  He was the only godly prophet left in the land of Israel and many seek to kill him, but he didn’t fear for his life and still spoke out against the wrong doings that were being done.  Like I said he spoke out!!!  Everything was going well when he wasn’t thinking about the many people that wanted to kill him but only focusing on doing what he believed was right.  However his luck changed, it changed when on evil woman, Jezebel, sent a message telling Elijah that she was going to kill him.  So what is the difference between the message that she sent and all the previous messages of deaths he received from everyone else?  The difference is the previous messages didn’t stop him from speaking out about what he was seeing but when he heard the message from Jezebel he thought about it and saw in his own mind his fate.  He didn’t rebuke her message he meditated on it and feared.  He ran away!  Do you believe this?  Just days before he asked God to bring fire from heaven and God sent fire from heaven to kill 300 prophets that were evil and now he feared what one woman was saying.
“And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life” 1 Kings 19:3
He heard the message she sent and in his mind he envisioned his death and he was afraid!
Just like Elijah we in the past have heard something that someone said of us and thought about it and accepted that into our lives.  Don’t accept what someone says about you!  You have the power to speak what you want to see happen in your own life.  You might not be seeing the blessing but you need to use your words to determine what you want to see happen in your life.  Words have power!  Start planting the seed today of the blessings you want to see tomorrow.
A farmer doesn’t look at his field and wait for seeds to fall from the sky so he can have a future harvest.  If he waited he wouldn’t have anything to reap.  But he works the land and sows the seeds because he knows that he will have a future harvest to reap.  Likewise we need to work and plant the seeds of the great things we want to see happen in our lives so we can reap a future harvest of blessings.  When doubt comes into your mind about your fate rebuke it!  Don’t allow doubt of your healing, happiness and wealth to settle in your mind.  But believe that even thou you might be enduring difficult times you are planting seeds of faith that God will turn your fate around.  God will turn your marriage around, your health and your finances.  Like the word of God says; “You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:28
Three steps to a successful harvest from the seeds of faith you plant:
·         Believe in your mind and heart that what you are determining will come to pass in your life
·         Do not share your what you want to happen in your life with anyone so you don’t make room for doubt to be planted into your mind
·         Proclaim it daily “like a plant needs water your seeds of faith needs to be watered daily”
